Indie Games Publisher KPL has opened its new headquarters in Leamington Spa – the UK’s biggest games development hub outside of London.
Based at 12 Hamilton Terrace, the company’s head office will be fully staffed with management and development teams when Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are eased. In the meantime, it has a full reception and postal service whilst staff continue to work from home.
The Leamington Spa games hub has long been billed as the ‘home’ of the UK games industry, having played host to veteran studios such as Codemasters and Blitz Games. Today, the area still plays a pivotal role in the UK games business: Ukie’s ‘Think Global, Act Local’ report published earlier this year revealed that, at £101 million in GVA, Leamington Spa’s games studios made the largest single economic contribution to local economies for any regional games hubs outside of London and the Slough/Heathrow area.
“Given the wealth of games culture and talent within the area, we are honoured to be joining the Leamington Spa games hub,” said KPL CFO Mark Boote. “This new HQ will provide us with great opportunities towards the growth and the development of our business.”
The new office is located at 12 Hamilton Terrace, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 4LY
